What is Asthma?

Asthma is a chronic disease that affects the airways of the lungs, resulting from inflammation and narrowing of the respiratory passages. This prevents the airflow to the airways, leading to repeated episodes of shortness of breath with wheezing accompanied by coughing and sputum after exposure to inhaling substances. Allergies or irritation of the respiratory system, and these seizures vary in intensity and frequency from person to person, which is one of the most common diseases among children.

Causes of asthma attacks :

  • Smoke .
  • Sensitivity against certain things such as: chemicals, bird feathers, animal fur, pollen, dust, certain foods, liquids or preservatives.
  • Viral infections of the respiratory system.
  • Some drugs, such as aspirin, anti-beta, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs,
  • Extreme aerobic exercise.
  • Psychological Emotions.
  • Hormonal changes such as menstrual cycle in some women
  • Gastro esophageal reflux disease.

Symptoms of an asthma attack:

Asthma symptoms range from mild to severe, and vary from person to person.

  • Shortness of breath.
  • Contractions or chest pains.
  • Sleep disorder due to shortness of breath.
  • Sound wheezing when breathing or exhale.
  • Frequent cough with nasal and sneezing, especially when a viral infection is present in the respiratory tract

Symptoms of acute asthma attack:

  • Elevated severity and frequency of disease symptoms.
  • Difficult breathing.
  • An increasing need to use bronchodilators.
